Home is where the heart is...and it's also sometimes where the best photos are made. Kids are comfortable, bathrooms and snacks are nearby, and there are toys. Not so much for playing with as for using to get good smiles. I actually almost left this shoot with a toy airplane and R2-D2 in my pocket. They were good helpers. ;-)
Meet Laura, Sanjay, Ryan and Brandon. I love how Ryan is holding Brandon's leg. So so sweet.
What a beautiful family!
And what cute cute boys!
I started out with 4-year old Ryan...
He loved showing me all his different expressions.
"You better not smile"...
"You better not laugh at my silly face"
Oh how perfect.
After just a few minutes, he had the natural smiling thing down pat.
His younger brother Brandon was on the move.
But occasionally he would pause...
And he's look down at some rocks or some sticks so that I could capture those gorgeous eyelashes. And those adorable chubby cheeks!
He was full of smiles...
Love it even more. Precious!
We did some portraits with Mommy...
And then we just played.
And captured memories that are just pure and genuine.
Expressions that can't be forced or posed.
At the end, we decided to do some on the front porch. This one makes me laugh. "Don't you take my superhero Ryan!"
So guess what, I took him to help me take the picture, and look what we got.
Laura and Sanjay, thank you for welcoming me into your beautiful home to capture these memories for your family. I hope you love the sneak peek as much as I do! :)
On July 28th, Jessica and I photographed Meg & Edward's intimate wedding celebration in Richmond, VA. Everything -- including the weather -- was just perfect. A beautiful bride, a handsome groom wearing a kilt, a cute dog, a trolley, delicious food and drinks, and LAUGHTER. Non stop laughter. Here are a few favorites from this amazing day. Enjoy!
We started our day at the Richmond Omni where Meg was getting ready...
And where her best friend Carrie was finishing up her toast.
We focused on some details...
And then took Meg to the lobby to get some bridal portraits.
Meg, you are just gorgeous!
And Jess, you rock on with your fun angles!
I heart purple hydrangeas.
The outdoor ceremony took place in Church Hill.
There we found Edward in his kilt.
The programs were also fans...
And each guest got one of these to keep cool.
Time to start.
Meg was walked in by her parents.
And the hug after the kiss. Love it.
I am so happy that I was able to get Edward's face...
And Jessica was able to capture Meg's. Priceless.
We did a few wedding party shots...
And then a bunch of Meg & Edward alone.
There was a cocktail hour at Meg & Edward's home...
Their precious pup just kept looking at me...
So we took him outside for a few pics.
What gorgeous colors.
Next it was time for a trolley ride.
All the guests hopped on...
And headed to Arcadia restaurant for dinner.
That room was just full of laughter....
And even a few tears when Carrie gave her toast.
Everyone raised their glass...
And toasted the newlyweds, as they toasted to each other.
Meg & Edward, thank you allowing us to be a part of your beautiful wedding. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, and lots, lots more laughter. Hugs! ~Kristine & Jessica
I should have titled this, "Here Comes the Sun..." because I think we rescheduled this engagement session at least 4 times due to rain. Ugh. I'm pretty sure that is a rescheduling record, and Jessica and Chris were so patient with my busy weekend schedule this summer. On the 5th time though, not only did we have a dry day, we had SUN. And you can see it shining in the background of these pictures. That makes my heart smile. And so does this session. As if Jessica and Chris weren't adorable enough, they brought along their precious pup JoJo, who was pretty much a professional doggie model. :-) Here are a few favorites from our morning together. Enjoy!
Meet Jessica and Chris, with their little camera ham JoJo.
I love that they brought her along.
The pictures with her are just adorable.
She was sooooo good.
Thank you JoJo - and thank you to Jessica's bridesmaid for dog-sitting for the remainder of the session.
After JoJo went home, we wandered around looking for cool spots and what else - SUN! :)
I got a few of the beautiful bride-to-be alone...
She is SO beautiful!
And so is her bling!
Good job Chris.
Engagement sessions are a great way to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
We had so much fun.
And we practiced a bunch of wedding day poses.
Actually I love them all.
What a beautiful setting!
Jessica and Chris are getting married in Charlottesville next spring.
I am so excited for them!
And truly honored to be their photographer.
Jessica and Chris, thank you for making this so easy and fun! I can't wait to see your save-the-dates -- and of course I can't wait til your wedding. Hugs! ~Kristine
I first met this adorable family for Carter's 3-month session, and now here he is at 6 months -- along with his big sister Hayes. What cuties. What personality! There is a reason people LOVE taking photos of 6-month old babies, and it's because they are full of expression. Carter was all wiggles and giggles, and so was Hayes! I can't wait to see them again soon for Carter's 9-month session. For now though, here are a few favorites from his half-year birthday. Enjoy!
Carter with his big blue eyes and blue monogram. Gorgeous!
Cute baby in a basket alert.
He was so giggly.
I just followed her around her yard...
Every now and then she posed for me. LOVE.
But mostly, I just captured her being a toddler.
No you may not have my milk. ;-)
I love that we captured all of her expressions.
Especially this. Little Miss Giggles.
Look Mom & Dad ' C ' is for Carter!
Who ever said baby toes weren't delicious!?!
I can totally see these in a collage frame.
They are just the essence of 6-months.
My camera couldn't get enough of him!
As usual, I have too many favorites.
Yes, I know I'm cute.
Just like his big sister.
Can't wait to see what we capture on the next go round!
Jill and Matt, thank you for asking me to photograph your precious babies! See you all soon! Hugs ~Kristine
