Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. So, as Kristine Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places I love. To my super cool clients, I am truly honored that you chose me to capture your memories. I hope that you enjoy the sneak peek of your photos. To my prospective clients, hopefully this will give you a little taste of what it’s like to work with me, and the kind of images you can expect. Thanks for stopping by! ~Kristine **PS - to view exclusively weddings, engagement sessions, or lifestyle photography, use the "categories" link above.
I recently had the chance to do a shoot for 5 siblings and their families -- for a total of 16 people including 8 boys under the age of 6! This was "the shot" -- the one we worked hard for and the one that will be hanging proudly in Grandma & Grandpa's home. All the kids and grandkids. How truly special, and how truly amazing that 5 siblings were able to find a date that worked for EVERYONE. Here are a few of my other favorites from our session. These boys are seriously ADORABLE! Enjoy!
They belong to Scott and Candice.
Then we have William...
They make up Mark and Kristie's party of 5.
And last but not least we have Luke...
They are Jason and Kelly's boys.
I actually photographed them last fall and I think they might have remembered me. Either that, or they were just really in the mood to model for my camera. Precious!
Auntie Jill, surrounded by her 4 brothers and her 8 nephews. Love it! We had gotten so many fun portraits out of the way -- so now it was time to play.
I'm pretty sure this is what life with 3 boys looks like. A moment Candice will want to hold on to forever.
Speaking of holding on...Kristie was out of town for work and literally flew in for our shoot just in time and came straight from the airport.
Needless to say, her boys were so excited to see her and just couldn't let her go.
So so sweet.
Everywhere I looked, someone was smiling...
And having fun.
Especially when it was time for the slide.
Reece loved it!
For the most part they forgot I was even there...
And that is a great way to get those natural smiles! Love those sandy toes!
Luke and his younger brother...still posing for me!
I just adore these kids. All of them!
So much that I actually braved the bounce house with 5 boys.
I just sat in a corner and prayed I wouldn't get jumped on. ;-)
The cousins had fun seeing who could jump higher...
Yep, just another day at "work" for these kids.
I'm so glad I could capture these memories for them in one of their most favorite places.
And I couldn't resist making a storyboard as a thank you. Happiness comes from many things...but having grandchildren to love is definitely at the top of the list. To each of you, thank you for asking me to do these precious pictures for your entire family! Hugs! ~Kris
It's so rewarding to have the same families come back for updated photos year after year. I've been photographing this family since 2008...before their youngest was even born and though I have favorites from every other session, this is definitely my favorite yet. At the end of our session, Caroline even insisted that her parents buy me a mug from the gift shop because, in her words, "I was a really good photographer." I just told her I had really good subjects. Here are a few favorites from our day together. Enjoy!
We started our session with some portraits...
Could these 3 be any cuter?!
I adore them. They were so ready to play...so before we got too wild...
We knocked out a few more portraits. Beautiful family!
Caroline is such a beauty...
And a total sweetheart.
You can just tell how much she loves life...
And her brothers. So sweet!
What's not to love though?
These boys are so handsome! Ethan, now 5, was a little more willing to pose for me...
Ryan, at 3, was more of a moving target.
And honestly, I LOVE that! It is just the most precious age!
While the boys got some play time...
And some laughter...
Caroline kept being my little model.
Brothers, best buds. Love.
Daddy's girl. Beautiful!
And his boys...
They had a great time.
Portrait time doesn't always mean look at the camera...
I love directing a little to get sweet candids like these.
I wasn't sure we'd get one with Ryan?? ;-)
But we did!
And then we found a wide open spot...
So these 3 could run.
They did fantastic!
Which is why this blog is so long!
I could post forever...
But I'll end with Mom and Dad. Cory and Megan, thank you once again for asking me to do pictures for your family. You are raising the sweetest kids and I'm so happy I could freeze this moment in time for you! Hugs! ~Kris
Grammie and Pop with their twin daughters (my beautiful friends Amy & Heather) and their families. This was "the shot" that we did this shoot for...everything else was just a bonus...and there are a LOT of bonuses. Here are a few more favorites as I'm finishing their entire gallery. Enjoy!
Meet Heather and Randy's oldest son, Zachary. He is soooo handsome and I just love his toothless smile!
This is his little brother Evan. Look at those curls - what a doll!
If you read my blog, then you may remember this photogenic little guy from last fall. This is Amy and Terry's oldest son, Dylan. Adorable!
His little brother Owen didn't want to smile for me...at least not at the beginning. He just wanted to wear his superman cape.
No worries though, I worked a little magic and then we got this. Such a cutie.
Grammie and Pop, you raised 2 beautiful, smart, kindhearted women...
Who are now raising beautiful families of their own. First Heather and Randy's crew...
And then Amy and Terry's. I have a feeling these pictures might go in the same room with Amy and Heather's wedding pictures.
Like any shoot, we did a bunch of portraits. But we also did a ton of candids. These melt my heart.
And more and more, these are the ones that people are choosing to canvas for their walls.
They're just so fun...
And they showcase personalities...
And real life.
Heather: "Boys, stop making silly faces at Miss Kris." Boys: "Mom, she told us to!"
Daddy's big boy!
Daddy's little boy.
Could it get any sweeter?
These are the kind of images that you look at 10 years from now...
And it takes you back to that very moment.
Evan was having a great time...
At the end of our session, the 4 cousins went on Grammie and Pop's swingset...
One for the playroom and/or the boys' bedrooms. I absolutely LOVE it!
Amy & Heather, thank you for asking me to do these special pictures for your entire family. I still have memories of sitting together at our middle school lunch table, and now here I am capturing memories for your sweet sweet families. It doesn't get much awesomer! Hope you love the little preview. Lots more still to come. xoxo Kris
When her friends asked her what it was like to be a "new mom" again after a decade, that was Brenda's response. Dessert. The perfect addition to an already perfect meal. And something oh so sweet. That is exactly what 6 month old Kenzie is. Sweet sweet sweet! And so is this entire family. I'm so glad I had the chance to meet them and to take their first pictures together as a new family of 5. Here are a few favorites from our afternoon together. Enjoy!
Meet handsome Zach. He's the oldest of the 3 kids...
Next we have Jaya. She is such a beauty.
And then there's baby Kenzie. Love the wave. What a dollbaby!
We started out with a bunch of portraits in different combinations...beautiful girls!
And the whole family. LOVE!
Then we moved on to some that were more "directed candid".
I adore these kind of pictures.
Then we just played.
Jaya's dress was perfect for twirling.
Kenzie is such a happy little baby.
I have to show a few more of these darling kids.
Jason and Brenda, thanks for the opportunity to photograph your adorable family.
Hope you love the little preview as much as I do. Hugs! ~Kristine
I first met Kristen when we were bridesmaids in a mutual friend's wedding a few years ago, and I first did pictures for her when Caroline was just a newborn. Since then I have grown as a photographer (Kristen has even connected me with some really great teaching opportunities, and she took my workshop herself last fall), and wow, her kids have definitely grown too! Now Caroline is almost 2 and her big brother Will is 4. Here are a few favorites from our morning together at Maymont. Enjoy!
This is the first look I got from Caroline. She wasn't too sure about this whole picture thing.
But as soon as I got down on my knees and started talking about picking flowers, I had a new best buddy.
Could those pigtails be any more precious?!!
Such a gorgeous little girl.
And then we have her big brother Will.
He stole my heart with those smiles!
And those freckles and eyelashes. I could have photographed him all day...
But he really wanted me to meet his friend Bear.
"Can I get a picture with Bear Miss Kris?" Oh happy day!
"How much do you love your Bear, Will?"
Bear helped Will pick some flowers for his Mommy.
Yep, these two were on a mission.
Cute little hands.
In between all the flower picking, we got some portraits like this...
And then we got all those sweet candids too.
Capturing a moment is my favorite thing.
A framer for sure!
I adore this family! Just beautiful!
We didn't spend much time on portraits...because a session goes so much better when you just play! Will got a turn...
And so did Caroline!
They even demonstrated how they give each other "silly kisses"...
Which consists of a kiss followed by Will falling down and Caroline laughing at him.
What an absolutely adorable duo!
Kristen and Kap, thanks for asking me to capture your beautiful family! xoxoxo
I showed up to the home of Dani and Kevin to find little Matthew gazing out his window...
I asked him..."Do you want to play?"
And surely he did!
I first tried to get a few portraits...
What an adorable baby boy!
But he was oh so tired.
Thankfully his grandparents were there helping and gave him a bottle.
During our quick break I focused on the other baby.
What a beauty!
Matthew finished his baba, got a few cuddles from Mama, and then....
It was outside and time to PLAY!
He got shoulder rides from Daddy...
And he just loved going upside down with Mommy...
Really, it didn't matter what he was doing. He was having so much fun!
Especially with his Uncle Frank, visiting all the way from NYC!
Cozy Coupe! Matthew wasn't sure if he liked riding...
Later he explored some more...
His beautiful mommy just watched and admired her darling little man.
And then they played some more -- this time in the water table.
Matthew had a blast and that made me smile.
Danielle & Kevin, thank you so much for allowing me to spend a morning at your home with your beautiful family, grandparents, Uncle Frank and your precious pup! I had so much fun and I hope you love the little sneak peek as much as I do! Hugs! ~Kristine
I went to college with Sydney and Eric (go Hokies!), and although I didn't know them too well, we have a bunch of mutual friends...many of whom I can thank for referring me yet another beautiful family! When Sydney first emailed me, she mentioned that she loved the use of sunlight in photos, so I thought we should try to shoot at "Golden Hour".
I love the Golden Hour...that amazing time before sunset when everything is just glowing. Unfortunately it's also sometimes the witching hour for kids, because let's be honest, it's dinner time. Well, I have to say that Collin and Barrett did fantastic. We did 2 locations and 3 outfits, and though there were a few hunger cries at the end, it wasn't anything a few fruit snacks couldn't fix. :)
Golden hour, golden hearts...here are a few of my favorites of this sweet sweet family. Enjoy!
Meet adorable 5 year old Collin. He has the cutest laugh.
And the most amazing smile.
5 going on 25. He looks so grown up...like a little model.
Ahh, back to being a kiddo again. :)
What a gorgeous little boy. My camera just loved him...
And his little sister Barrett, who just turned 2. Precious!
Look at those eyes!
Barrett gave some kisses to Mommy.
But when Daddy held her she wanted to be spun around...
Ya think she liked it!?!
Part of the reason we started our shoot at their home was so that we could include their dog Cooper. Just perfect!
Cooper definitely earned his treats that day...
And Collin and Barrett earned theirs. So so cute.
While Barrett finished her lollipop...
Collin had fun running...
And riding his bike. Love that face!
Then after a quick outfit change, we were off to the park. We did a few portraits...
And more candids.
Love the smiles!
And the interaction.
Collin loved tackling Daddy...
And Barrett finally gave him a kiss. So so sweet!
Barrett, you are a doll!
I have no other words.
Golden hour love.
I wasn't sure we were going to get another "posed yet unposed" family shot, but we did.
And this one was just the icing on the cake. Thank you Golden Hour. Thank you Sydney and Eric! You have the most beautiful family and it was so fun to see you after all these years. Hugs! ~Kris
Click on the play button below to see a musical slideshow of even more pictures from their session...and make sure your volume is turned up. :)
The first time I photographed this beautiful family was the spring of 2011...
A year later, their family is growing!
William couldn't wait to meet his baby sister.
This was a combined maternity/family/2-year old session...
So first I focused on Beth and her adorable baby bump.
I love when women choose to document such an amazing time in their lives.
And it's so fun when there is an older sibling included!
Mommy's big boy...
William just turned 2 and he loves his baby...
And his Daddy.
He had so much fun wandering around Maymont...
And playing and getting shoulder rides.
Could he be any more adorable?!
Love this face!
Checking out the fish.
A few more of his gorgeous Mommy...
Some more fun...
And now it's time to meet the newest member of their family!
Meet Kingsley -- less than 2 weeks old and already waving at the camera!
Yep, William really does love her!
I'm so happy for Beth and Bill.
They have the most perfect new addition.
A total dollbaby.
Snug as a bug.
Three of my favorite things -- baby hands...
We did some with Mommy and her little loves...
Daddy was upstairs working but William called him down with his walkie talkie.
Then we did some with Daddy.
And even some with Beth's mom (Granny) who was in town visiting and helping.
Now that I've "worked" with Beth 3 times, I feel like I've gained a new friend.
Beth and Bill, thank you for asking me to document this very special time in your lives. You have the most beautiful family and I am so lucky to be able to document your children as they grow. Hugs! ~Kris
You know you're a mom of preschoolers when you title your blog after a cartoon show! ;-) I love a backyard session -- and I adored these little backyardigans! Really though, a backyard session makes it especially easy on the kids, especially when one of them is only 3 months old. I'll be photographing this family again when Carter is 6, 9, and 12 months and I am really excited to capture his first year. Here are a few favorites of him along with big sister Hayes and his parents, Jill and Matt. Enjoy!
Meet 2-year old Hayes. Dollbaby!
And so is little Carter. Just precious!
A backyard session goes really well when you have a charming white garden shed in your yard. How convenient!
Hayes loved picking flowers for Mommy.
And posing. Love.
We made sure to get some pictures with Daddy before he had to leave for work. We got both portraits...
And sweet candids.
Carter loved going up in the air.
He was all giggles.
So of course Hayes got a turn too.
And we turned it into a fun family shot.
I could photograph that pretty little face all day!
You think she was having any fun?!
Carter lasted 2 hours without a nap, but he was definitely getting sleepy...
Could he be any cuter!?! Love it!
Still hoping to get a few more smiles...we resorted to the old standby. Up, up and away.
I love moments like these.
Time frozen with my camera.
This was the very last image we got, and with this I drove away with a big smile.
Jill and Matt, thanks for allowing me to spend a morning with your beautiful family and precious, sweet children! Hope you love the little preview as much as I do. Hugs! ~Kristine
