Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. So, as Kristine Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places I love. To my super cool clients, I am truly honored that you chose me to capture your memories. I hope that you enjoy the sneak peek of your photos. To my prospective clients, hopefully this will give you a little taste of what it’s like to work with me, and the kind of images you can expect. Thanks for stopping by! ~Kristine **PS - to view exclusively weddings, engagement sessions, or lifestyle photography, use the "categories" link above.
I have known Chris since I was 19. She is my sorority little sister and one of my very best friends. I could go on and on about how much I love her and her family -- hubby Brad and sons Alex & Brady -- how their smiles can light up any room and their laughter is just contagious. Being around them makes my heart so happy, even if it's just for a 2-hour photo session. :)
We did these pictures over the summer at Jefferson Vineyards in the mountains of Charlottesville, and I know they will always hold a special place in their hearts. Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!
One for the Christmas card. Just beautiful.
Brothers. They are so sweet.
There's that laugh I love.
Mommy's baby, two year old Brady.
And her big boy, four year old Alex.
Next it was Brad's turn.
Brady's reward for taking nice pictures. He got to go up high!
"One more time?"
Big brother Alex.
Still little enough for this too.
About 45 minutes into our session, the boys took a break from the action to hug.
"Big brother, I look up to you".
My heart was melting.
I was clicking through it all, even the falls...
Brady just smiled and got back up...
For more hugs. Me: Everyone say PICKLE!
And then they smiled at me. Such adorable kids!
Mr. J. Crew kids himself.
Just so handsome.
Precious Brady. He had me running.
But every now and then he stopped to pause. Look at those big brown eyes - gorgeous!
Then it was Mommy & Daddy's turn.
I can always count on them to make my stomach hurt from laughing.
I love you guys!
And I'm so proud of the marriage and family you've created.
Shoulder rides are always a hit during a photo session...
We got some really cute ones - my favorite is at the end.
Later it was time for Superman shirts. LOVE. Though I still think Chris should have been Wonderwoman.
What do you get when you take really good pics in the heat?
Lollipops of course.
A little bribery never hurts.
I could post and post...
But I'll end with this one, one of my favorites of the favorites. Chris & Brad, thank you for having me document your boys growing up. I love you all so much! XOXO

Home is where the heart is...and it's also sometimes where the best photos are made. Kids are comfortable, bathrooms and snacks are nearby, and there are toys. Not so much for playing with as for using to get good smiles. I actually almost left this shoot with a toy airplane and R2-D2 in my pocket. They were good helpers. ;-)
Meet Laura, Sanjay, Ryan and Brandon. I love how Ryan is holding Brandon's leg. So so sweet.
What a beautiful family!
And what cute cute boys!
I started out with 4-year old Ryan...
He loved showing me all his different expressions.
"You better not smile"...
"You better not laugh at my silly face"
Oh how perfect.
After just a few minutes, he had the natural smiling thing down pat.
His younger brother Brandon was on the move.
But occasionally he would pause...
And he's look down at some rocks or some sticks so that I could capture those gorgeous eyelashes. And those adorable chubby cheeks!
He was full of smiles...
Love it even more. Precious!
We did some portraits with Mommy...
And then we just played.
And captured memories that are just pure and genuine.
Expressions that can't be forced or posed.
At the end, we decided to do some on the front porch. This one makes me laugh. "Don't you take my superhero Ryan!"
So guess what, I took him to help me take the picture, and look what we got.
Laura and Sanjay, thank you for welcoming me into your beautiful home to capture these memories for your family. I hope you love the sneak peek as much as I do! :)
On July 28th, Jessica and I photographed Meg & Edward's intimate wedding celebration in Richmond, VA. Everything -- including the weather -- was just perfect. A beautiful bride, a handsome groom wearing a kilt, a cute dog, a trolley, delicious food and drinks, and LAUGHTER. Non stop laughter. Here are a few favorites from this amazing day. Enjoy!
We started our day at the Richmond Omni where Meg was getting ready...
And where her best friend Carrie was finishing up her toast.
We focused on some details...
And then took Meg to the lobby to get some bridal portraits.
Meg, you are just gorgeous!
And Jess, you rock on with your fun angles!
I heart purple hydrangeas.
The outdoor ceremony took place in Church Hill.
There we found Edward in his kilt.
The programs were also fans...
And each guest got one of these to keep cool.
Time to start.
Meg was walked in by her parents.
And the hug after the kiss. Love it.
I am so happy that I was able to get Edward's face...
And Jessica was able to capture Meg's. Priceless.
We did a few wedding party shots...
And then a bunch of Meg & Edward alone.
There was a cocktail hour at Meg & Edward's home...
Their precious pup just kept looking at me...
So we took him outside for a few pics.
What gorgeous colors.
Next it was time for a trolley ride.
All the guests hopped on...
And headed to Arcadia restaurant for dinner.
That room was just full of laughter....
And even a few tears when Carrie gave her toast.
Everyone raised their glass...
And toasted the newlyweds, as they toasted to each other.
Meg & Edward, thank you allowing us to be a part of your beautiful wedding. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, and lots, lots more laughter. Hugs! ~Kristine & Jessica
Jacqueline and Bryan are seriously adorable together, and I'm so excited that I get to be their wedding photographer. They're getting married in the Richmond area next June, but before that I'll be doing a bridal session with Jacqueline. And her horses. On her farm. Yes please!
For now though, here are a few favorites from their engagement session at Maymont Park. We were shooting at "golden hour" and I just love love love how they turned out. Jacqueline and Bryan, thank you for making this SO MUCH FUN! Your happiness just jumps out of these photos! Hugs! ~Kristine

I had so much fun photographing Anna, a class of 2013 senior at Cosby High School. The second I met her I knew she would be up for anything. In fact, first up was riding her horse Bogie in her gorgeous orange prom gown -- eeek, someone pinch me now! I felt like we were in photography dream land. :-) I love that these photos show her personality, her creativity, and her love of animals. Here is my best attempt at a top 10 with Bogie...though there are many more in the entire gallery because I just can't choose!
Just a few in her prom dress alone...without Bogie.
And then we were on to outfit number 2.
Love it. Look at those eyes!
We couldn't leave Lady out. So so sweet!
And then outfit number 3.
Such a beauty!
Anna, I'm so glad I had the chance to do these photos for you! You are an amazing young woman with a great future ahead of you! To Anna's parents, thank you for welcoming me into your home. You have the most lovely daughter, and Priscilla (mom to mom), I'm sure these are bringing tears to your eyes as you look at your baby girl all grown up. I hope you all love them as much as I do! Hugs! ~Kristine
I should have titled this, "Here Comes the Sun..." because I think we rescheduled this engagement session at least 4 times due to rain. Ugh. I'm pretty sure that is a rescheduling record, and Jessica and Chris were so patient with my busy weekend schedule this summer. On the 5th time though, not only did we have a dry day, we had SUN. And you can see it shining in the background of these pictures. That makes my heart smile. And so does this session. As if Jessica and Chris weren't adorable enough, they brought along their precious pup JoJo, who was pretty much a professional doggie model. :-) Here are a few favorites from our morning together. Enjoy!
Meet Jessica and Chris, with their little camera ham JoJo.
I love that they brought her along.
The pictures with her are just adorable.
She was sooooo good.
Thank you JoJo - and thank you to Jessica's bridesmaid for dog-sitting for the remainder of the session.
After JoJo went home, we wandered around looking for cool spots and what else - SUN! :)
I got a few of the beautiful bride-to-be alone...
She is SO beautiful!
And so is her bling!
Good job Chris.
Engagement sessions are a great way to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
We had so much fun.
And we practiced a bunch of wedding day poses.
Actually I love them all.
What a beautiful setting!
Jessica and Chris are getting married in Charlottesville next spring.
I am so excited for them!
And truly honored to be their photographer.
Jessica and Chris, thank you for making this so easy and fun! I can't wait to see your save-the-dates -- and of course I can't wait til your wedding. Hugs! ~Kristine
I first met this adorable family for Carter's 3-month session, and now here he is at 6 months -- along with his big sister Hayes. What cuties. What personality! There is a reason people LOVE taking photos of 6-month old babies, and it's because they are full of expression. Carter was all wiggles and giggles, and so was Hayes! I can't wait to see them again soon for Carter's 9-month session. For now though, here are a few favorites from his half-year birthday. Enjoy!
Carter with his big blue eyes and blue monogram. Gorgeous!
Cute baby in a basket alert.
He was so giggly.
I just followed her around her yard...
Every now and then she posed for me. LOVE.
But mostly, I just captured her being a toddler.
No you may not have my milk. ;-)
I love that we captured all of her expressions.
Especially this. Little Miss Giggles.
Look Mom & Dad ' C ' is for Carter!
Who ever said baby toes weren't delicious!?!
I can totally see these in a collage frame.
They are just the essence of 6-months.
My camera couldn't get enough of him!
As usual, I have too many favorites.
Yes, I know I'm cute.
Just like his big sister.
Can't wait to see what we capture on the next go round!
Jill and Matt, thank you for asking me to photograph your precious babies! See you all soon! Hugs ~Kristine
Ashley & Tim were married at the United States Naval Academy on a gorgeous sunny day in July. It was truly an honor to be in a place where so many heroes have walked. An honor to capture the love story for a couple who will always hold a special place in my heart. Since taking their engagement photos last summer, I have loved working with these two, and their wedding day was definitely the icing on the cake. Here are a few favorites -- and a slideshow at the end! Enjoy!
In downtown Annapolis...
I started my day with a few details like Ashley's beautiful dress...
And her adorable shoes...
And garters. Her colors were red, white, and blue of course!
She is a beauty.
I don't even have words.
Too many favorites.
Her beautiful bridesmaids...
And the little ring bearer who stole the show!
Just too much!
After a few shots with the girls...
I was off to the Chapel...
Where I found the handsome groom.
There's that little man again!
I love this one of his Mom taking pictures of her little guy -- a woman after my own heart!
Ashley was calm and collected.
The moment had finally arrived.
Tim was all smiles.
Here is a little glimpse of the ceremony.
And they're married!
The Naval Academy is full of tradition.
But these guys definitely put their own twist on things.
And it made for fab pictures and moments, especially later in the evening.
A few shots of the wedding party...
And then a few faves of the newlyweds.
Time to party!
The first dance...
Was followed by toasts...
And one of the best garter removals I've ever seen.
Oh, and look who caught it!
Some cake cutting...
And then...a few good men bringing a whole lotta joy with "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling"
Not to be outdone, Ash showed off her singing skills too.
Love it when a bride breaks it down on her wedding day.
It was so. much. fun.
Ashley and Tim, thank you for asking me to photograph your big day. You are two of the nicest people and I am so happy you found each other. With love and appreciation always. XOXO Kristine

High school senior photography. It's something I'm starting to do more of and I'm really liking it! Alec's session took place in downtown Annapolis, Maryland. I was going to be in the area to photograph a wedding at the United States Naval Academy, so I took Alec's pictures that morning before meeting up with my bride.
Anyway, I always say that I photograph the most wonderful people, and Alec (and his family too!) was no exception. He is the drum major for his high school band, a track star who can run 5 minute miles, and he has big plans for next year. After meeting him, I have no doubt that he will continue to do great things after high school. Here are a few favorites from our walk around Annapolis. Enjoy!
The Natural. It seems so fitting for this family. Yes, mom is so naturally beautiful, but besides that, their photos -- even the "posed" ones -- are just so natural. Everyone looks relaxed and real, not stiff and staged, and that is exactly what I wanted to give them. Here are a few favorites as I'm finishing up their whole gallery. Enjoy!
Meet CJ. Does he not have some of the most beautiful blue eyes you've ever seen?
What a handsome little guy!
He was the perfect little model with the most natural smiles.
Eyelashes. I will never get tired of these shots.
Next we have baby brother Cade.
Those eyes, that curly hair, that smile! Could he be any more adorable?!
On the move! Most of our attempts to get the brothers together looked like this. Cade was a super fast crawler.
So so sweet!
We did some family walking pictures...
Those are always some of my faves.
And then some with Mom. Shannon is such a natural beauty!
Love. It's the one thing, more than anything else, that I want to shine through in my photos.
We did a mix of candids...
And what I usually call candid portraits.
I love them all.
Cade loved walking around with Dad's help.
And when he stopped to pause, look what he did. Such love!
Later we just played.
CJ really liked showing how fast he could run.
And peeking out from behind trees.
And Cade, he just kept on crawling. Gorgeous!
We ended our session by playing "This little piggy". Naturally.
Shannon and Ryan, I had so much fun doing these pictures for your beautiful family! Thank you so much!!! ~Kristine
