This past Saturday, my mother-in-law hosted another baby shower for Baby Elsa at her home in Northwestern PA.
From the adorable invitations, to the little "Elsa" flower pots, to the pink and green sandwiches, Mom B. definitely went all out. She said it's because she has waited 6 years to become a grandma!
Scott and I are very lucky to have such a great mom and friend, and I know she will be a wonderful grandma too.
Here I am with 2 more women I love...my sister-in-law Shawna and my stepmom-in-law Yvette. I definitely made out in the family department when I married Scott. :-)
And here I am with the grandmas, great grandma, great aunts, great-great aunts, cousins, and friends. Being that we live almost 4 hours apart, I don't get to see these women very often, so it was extra special to me that they could all be there.
There were some really cute games, and the awesome prizes made everyone pretty competitive.
Opening all the gifts was so fun. Amy - thank you so much for taking these pictures, and thanks especially for driving up from Pittsburgh.
Scott and I somehow managed to fit all of this in our car for the ride home. I promise to blog a picture of Elsa's closet soon (and of course the nursery). She has more clothes than me! ;-) Thanks again everyone! I will remember this day forever.
It's hard to believe that our "puppy" is 7 years old today!
Seems like yesterday that she looked like this. We got her in 2001 when she was 13 weeks old.
In addition to having the longest legs anyone has ever seen on a Jack Russell (we think she may have some Whippet in her??), she definitely has her quirks. She is the only dog I know who is terrified of swimming! This is the only time we ever took her. Funny for us, but not for Zoey.
This is Zoey with her cousin Kodi at Christmas - Kodi just wanted to play, but I guess Zoey decided she was too mature for his puppyish ways. ;) The look on their faces cracks me up.
Zoey is best known around the neighborhood as the "dog who does handstands". This was taken with our point and shoot awhile ago, and she does this every time she goes to the bathroom. She literally walks on her front legs for at least 10 seconds. We really need to video this sometime!
And she definitely has the pouty face down, which I'm sure is part of the reason she is so spoiled! Seriously though, she is such a good dog, and she has brought us so much happiness and love over the past 7 years. I'm sure she will be a great big sister when our daughter arrives in May. Happy Birthday Zoey Pamoey! :-) Mommy and Daddy love you.
My friend Allison recently launched a fabulous new company called Ali Designs
, which sells handcrafted boutique accessories for your little ones, including toy clips, hairbows, hairbow holders, & picture frames.
Though I did not know her at the time, Allison did her undergraduate work right here at Bucknell and she now lives in the Atlanta area. Before marrying her wonderful husband Jon, Allison attended Duke University and worked as a physical therapist for many years before becoming a stay-at-home-mom turned entrepreneur. Her daughter Madeline is an absolute doll, and I can't wait to get her blue eyes in front of my lens someday!
If you have kids yourself, or if you know someone who does or who is expecting (ahem!), all of the Ali Designs products make a perfect new baby, baby shower, or birthday party gift. My friend Heather actually gave me an Ali-Oops! toy clip and some Bitty Bow hairbows for my shower, and I can't wait to use them! They are truly the epitome of adorable meets functional.
Pictured below are some of the great products offered at Ali Designs.
Here are Allison's daughter Madeline & Heather's son Jackson showing the Ali-Oops toy clips in action. Now these two can play the "drop and retrieve" game all by themselves, which makes their parents VERY happy. :-)
to visit her site, which was just listed on the Top 100 lists for Swanky Moms
& Posh Moms
. Congratulations Allison!
This past Saturday, my mom & stepmom hosted my first baby shower at The Pink Bicycle Tea Room
in Occoquan, Virginia. If you're ever in the DC-Northern VA area, or for our clients who live in that area, I would highly recommend The Pink Bicycle for lunch or a small private party. It was perfect!
Here I am out front with my mom - and a very proud Grandmother-to-be.
On the right is the other proud Grandma-to-be, my awesome stepmom Becky. We had a private room, which was all PINK. :-)
My friends Amanda & Heather helped out a bunch with the planning. How lucky for me, because the creativity of my friends never ceases to amaze me.
In addition to finding the tea room, Heather made me this adorable diaper cake! Our daughter's name is going to be Elsa Kate Pringle.
Gotta love details! Amanda planned the best "non-games" and the food was so yummy. Elsa even got a shoe fund!
And she got the cutest gifts, like this Ralph Lauren bikini from my friend Alanna.
Baby Elsa is so lucky to have this huge family of women who love her, and I am so lucky that they love me, too.
After the girl shower, it was time to grab our husbands for the PM festivities. Our friends Meghan & Ryan had a VA Tech party to welcome ALL the Hokie bambinos on the way.
I can't wait to frame this one!

A month or two ago, Scott and I started getting "Babymoon" mailings from resorts all over the world. Defined as a sort of pre-birth vacation, I guess they're like a bachelor or bachelorette party for a married couple with a bundle of joy on the way. One last getaway before life is forever changed.
I have to admit that I took a few virtual vacations to Aruba, but after quickly realizing that staying local was much more practical, we opted for good ole Happy Valley. State College will always be special to us - we lived there for several years while I was finishing my doctorate, and it was there that we bought our first home, got engaged, and planned our wedding. It's where our life as husband and wife began, so it was really cool to go back to celebrate the beginning of our life as a family.
It was COLD outside, but we schlepped around campus for a little photography.
For those who have asked, here are me and my belly in front of my old building, Henderson Hall. I am 26 weeks now.
Baby Girl Pringle got some culture - we did the Art Museum and saw Chick Corea and Bela Fleck
We stayed at the Days Inn, which allows dogs - so our precious little Zoey got to come too!
And of course a trip to State College wouldn't be complete without a little fly fishing. I saw Scott catch a few, but I didn't get any pictures of the trout.
But I did get this one of Scott and his beautiful sucker fish. Note, no fish were harmed during the creation of this blog. :-)
Now that I'm well into in the honeymoon stage of my pregnancy - the 2nd trimester ROCKS - Scott and I have been doing some traveling and visiting friends. This morning I was going through some of our personal pictures from the past two weekends, and I couldn't resist blogging these three little cuties. There are babies everywhere! Plus I have 6 pregnant friends right now - it seems like there is a new announcement every week lately - so Baby Girl Pringle is going to have lots of little friends. :)
Baby Russell is 10 months and he is almost walking already! We saw him take a step or two yesterday.
Baby Hadley is 5 months old, and she is the happiest baby ever.
And Baby Kadins is 1 month old today. Happy 1 month birthday Kadins!
Stay tuned for more adorable baby girl pictures from a shoot I had yesterday afternoon.
Tonight Scott and I had our 20 week ultrasound, and we found out that we are expecting a GIRL!
*For those who didn't know, or for our prospective clients visiting our blog for the first time, we are due on May 29th. We will be doing lifestyle photo shoots this winter and spring, and we will begin our wedding spree on June 21st. Next month we will be updating our website, and I will continue to blog weekly - so stay tuned for some images from recent shoots, some funny behind-the-scenes stuff, and some of our favorite never-blogged-before images.*
Despite having a few boy dreams, I had a feeling we were going to be seeing pink, because most people I know with girls were really sick during their first trimesters and/or had babies with fast heartbeats while in utero. Baby Pringle's heartbeat has ranged from 150 to 165, and wow was I sick! I know these are old wives tales, but at least for me and most of my friends, they turned out to be true. I have loved every minute of this experience - even the nausea - but now the real fun begins...picking a name and designing the nursery.
The ultrasound was amazing. We got to see the different parts of her brain, the chambers of her heart, her kidneys, her spine, her hands and feet, and her sweet little face. She kept putting her hands up like she was waving to us. It was the cutest thing, and words can't begin to describe how much we love her already. We are so blessed that everything is going well and that Baby P is healthy.
Here is her 3D image. She weighs almost a pound.
She's too big to fit in one image, but according to books, she is somewhere between 6 and 10 inches long now.
It's hard to believe that just a few months ago, she looked like this.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Scott, Kristine, Baby Pringle, and Zoey
Last weekend was a great weekend! I met up with 12 of my girlfriends and sorority sisters from VA Tech for our annual Christmas gift swap, and I got to experience the fabulous Georgia Brown's
in Washington DC. YUM!
It's hard to believe that I have known these girls for over 10 years. I've watched them become wives - as of November, we are all married (congrats Leslie!) - and now many of us are Mommies or Mommies-to-be.
From the left, Lisa is expecting a boy in late January, Kim is expecting a girl in early April, and Chris is expecting a boy just a week after Kim. Hmmm...boy, girl, boy...does that mean I'll be seeing pink in my future??
This is the first time I was able to come to the gift swap - for the past 5 years or so it was on a weeknight, so I could never make the trip down from PA. Somehow our friend Mullen always gets stuck explaining the rules.
Maybe it's because she has this way of captivating her audience.
Alanna goes in the the steal. Good thing there was live jazz to drown out the sounds of a bunch of rowdy girls.
Amanda digs in - this was her first swap too - since she lives in the OBX with her hubby.
And Leslie shows off her spa gift.
To Kim, thank you for organizing this for us, and a big thank you for our awesome JINGLE JAMS CDs. To all my girlfriends, I love you, and I can't wait to see you all again soon. XOXO
